Standing Together With Our Communities During Cyclone Ditwa
As families across Sri Lanka continue to recover from the severe impact of Cyclone Ditwa, we at Alnilam.lk remain committed to supporting those who are struggling during this difficult time. The extreme weather has disrupted livelihoods, displaced families, and created significant challenges for children and parents alike. We believe that even small acts of compassion can help restore hope—and we are grateful to have played a part in these community relief efforts.
Through MP Namal Rajapaksa’s Adaraya Book Donation Programme, our company was honoured to help 476 children take an important step back toward their education by providing essential schoolbooks. Many families affected by Cyclone Ditwa have found it hard to afford educational supplies, and ensuring that children can continue their learning was a responsibility we were proud to support.
Our company manager, Amila Maduranga Kodithuwakku, personally participated in this initiative and helped deliver the books, representing the commitment and compassion of the entire Alnilam.lk team.
In addition, we joined hands with the Bithaksalawwa Community Kitchen, a dedicated community group providing warm meals to those who have been hardest hit by the cyclone. Together, we supported the preparation and distribution of 2,000 meals, helping ensure that vulnerable individuals and families did not go without food during this challenging period.
We truly hope these contributions bring even a small measure of comfort and stability to those affected by Cyclone Ditwa. Our thoughts and support remain with every family working to rebuild their lives.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to MP Namal Rajapaksa and Millinda for organising and leading these impactful community initiatives. Their dedication has enabled many organisations, including Alnilam.lk, to contribute meaningfully to relief efforts when it matters most. At Alnilam.lk, we remain committed to engaging in social responsibility and community welfare projects, and we look forward to continuing our efforts to uplift and support communities across Sri Lanka.
